Expanding operations in France

21st Century Technology, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of on bus mobile surveillance and other monitoring systems, is building a reputation in France as a trusted technology partner to the public transport industry. The company has launched a new subsidiary 21st C. Technology SAS based in Montélimar, Provence, with Vincent Baumes as its Directeur General.

Vincent’s appointment and the launch of the French subsidiary are part of 21st Century’s strategic expansion into key territories in mainland Europe. The company already has an established business in Scandinavia and has ambitions to expand into Germany in the near future.

Vincent has a sales and marketing background in the passenger transport sector, having previously spent five years as Sales Director with a leading automatic passenger counting business in France and has developed strong relationships with senior decision makers within a number of European transport operators.

Geraldine Esquerré-Spurway, who has worked as 21st Century’s Project Manager in France for the last twelve months, explains why the French market has been so successful: “We have been able to demonstrate exceptional customer care to back up our advanced technical solutions. We have taken the time to build excellent relationships with potential customers and these are paying off as we are now seeing more and more enquiries and we already have several exciting projects under way. Our driver monitoring solution, EcoManager, has been particularly well received in France where it is regarded as an invaluable training tool, helping to reduce accidents, improve passenger comfort and save fuel.”

Vincent also recognises the potential for establishing a 21st Century business in France, as the country is home to many of the World’s largest public transport groups. He explains: “Train, tram and bus networks are highly developed in France and present a great market opportunity for 21st Century’s on board mobile surveillance, driver monitoring and automatic passenger counting products. As in the UK, French public transport operators are seeking to improve passenger and driver safety, decrease costs and improve passenger comfort. The French subsidiary’s role will be to drive forward sales initiatives in the territory and provide ‘on the ground’ support for the group’s International Sales team.”

Vincent and Geraldine, along with other members of 21st Century’s International Sales Team, will be on stand 55B at Rencontres nationales du transport public in Bordeaux from 27th to 29th November 2013.
